The Ideal Candidate

Given the nature of our work with neurodivergent learners, the ideal candidate may be a former educator with a strong understanding of learning differences who is looking to remain in the field of education while transitioning into an administrative role. They may also have prior experience in admissions and be ready to take on greater responsibility and leadership.

They are a confident communicator who enjoys building relationships with students, families, and community partners, and possess strong public speaking, outreach, and relationship‑building abilities.

Duties & Responsibilities

The Director of Admissions, Marketing, and Outreach will be responsible for the direction and leadership of all admissions, marketing, and outreach efforts at Bayhill School. This is a full‑time, year‑round position that reports directly to the Executive Director. This position is an integral component of the vitality and longevity of the school and its mission. The Director will work closely with the Executive Director to ensure that all functions are carried out in a timely and accurate manner.

Admissions
  • Oversee the admissions program from initial inquiry to acceptance, ensuring students align with our mission.
  • Present the school to prospective students and parents, handling applications, communication, interviews, initial meetings, shadow days, documentation, and final decision communication.
  • Interpret psycho‑educational reports to assess student suitability and classroom placement.
  • Oversee the admissions office, create the admissions plan, and implement an effective marketing plan.
  • Plan and execute programs that enhance public perception of the school.
  • Initiate and lead activities such as open houses, professional events, contacts with middle schools, and referrals to engage parents.
  • Attend high school fairs and educational conferences to promote awareness.
  • Organize and administer the financial aid program with the Executive Director.
  • Continuously evaluate and redesign admissions processes to maintain capacity enrollment of qualified students and a waitlist of qualified applicants.
  • Manage the network of parents, former parents, and alumni to support admissions.
  • Maintain relevant statistics on all aspects of admissions and re‑enrollment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.
  • Support the school and its leadership in all functions.
Marketing and Social Media
  • Develop a coordinated yearly Marketing Plan that includes print and digital advertising, social media outreach, trade conferences, referral outreach, and events to increase awareness.
  • Engage regularly on social media with 3‑5 posts per week and maintain industry blogs.
  • Plan events such as professional events, trade shows, speaker series, and others per the marketing plan.
  • Collaborate with the director and graphic designer to improve brand marketing, brochures, and website.
  • Maintain the website with regular content and updates by coordinating with staff and web hosts.
  • Work with web hosts to improve SEO and traffic.
Outreach
  • Coordinate regular visits to and from middle schools and professional referral bases to increase awareness and engagement.
  • Research trade shows and conferences to create strategies for attendance.
  • Research community events suitable for East Bay participation to raise awareness.
  • Research and coordinate with like‑mission organizations to strengthen the school’s connections and image within the neurodivergent community.
After‑school & Summer School
  • Collaborate with the Executive Director and staff to plan after‑school offerings.
  • Coordinate Credit Recovery classes.
  • Coordinate summer skill‑building courses and tutoring.
Qualifications
  • BA from a four‑year college or university.
  • Prior admissions experience desirable.
  • Familiarity with Finalsite enrollment and website.
  • Experience in special education or as a teacher highly desirable.
