PositionSummary
The Assistant Director, International Evaluation serves as an international specialist and member of the international evaluation team. This role supports first‑year, transfer, and international applicants in the admissions process, with particular attention to admissions, recruitment, and evaluation for international applicants. The incumbent will possess a solid knowledge of world education systems, the ability to decipher foreign language records, and the skill to assess a student’s educational background and make transfer credit judgments as needed, providing appropriate advising.
The team also sensitizes and enlightens all Office of Undergraduate Admissions staff and partners, as well as campus colleagues, to the special interests and needs of the international population.

Responsibilities Admissions Programs and Advising- Assist management in designing and implementing admissions programs for international applicants.
- Assist in designing and executing training for international readers and evaluators.
- Advise the general public in person, by telephone, virtually, or through groups.
- Provide information on admission policies, procedures, and eligibility requirements for all colleges, schools, and major programs.
- Advise prospective and current applicants, returning students, parents, government officials, faculty, staff, and representatives from UC campuses and other educational institutions.
- Offer in‑depth information on admissions requirements, prerequisite courses, curricula, financial aid criteria, and career opportunities.
- Support admissions officers in advising international applicants.
- Serve as a point of contact for assigned schools and community colleges.
- Represent UC Berkeley at school visits, community college visits, college nights, fairs, and transfer days as assigned.
- Behave in a manner that promotes goodwill on behalf of the University.
- Plan engagement with educators and counselors, schedule visits, and deliver presentations and interviews.
- Reach out to potential applicants and provide information about higher education generally and UC Berkeley specifically.
- Plan, manage, and implement events to enhance recruitment and yield, including Cal Day, campus diversity initiatives, mentoring programs, electronic communications, and similar activities.
- Assess effectiveness in attracting quality students to UC Berkeley.
- Utilize search and marketing tools and technology.
- Serve as liaison between students, parents, colleges, universities, community agencies, and UC Berkeley departments.
- Serve as Officer of the Day (OD) as assigned.
