Salary range:
The posted UC academic salary scales set the minimum pay the following table for the salary scale for this position: https://(Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). A reasonable estimate for a 100% time Lecturer position is $70,977‑$199,722.
Percent time:
Positions range from 11% for summer sessions appointments and 16.5% and up for one or two semesters.
Anticipated start:
Positions typically start at the beginning of the semester (July 1st for AY appointments, August 1 for Fall Semester; January 1st for Spring Semester). Appointments may be renewable based on the Program's need, funding, and lecturer performance.

The Department of Architecture at UC Berkeley invites applications for a pool of qualified lecturers and lecturers in lieu of GSIs to teach non‑studio courses in the following areas:
Architectural History and Theory, Building Science, Structures, and Construction, should an opening arise. Screening of applicants is ongoing and will continue as needed. The number of positions varies from semester to semester (fall, spring, and summer), depending upon the needs of the Architecture department.
- Teach non‑studio courses in Architectural History and Theory, Building Science, Structures and Construction.
- Hold office hours and advise students.
- Assign grades and prepare course materials (e.g., syllabus).
- Use Cal's electronic resources for course management.
Applicants must hold a bachelor's degree, or equivalent international degree at time of application.
Additional Qualifications (required at time of start)For the Instructor role, candidates must possess a professional Architecture Degree (an M.Arch from an Accredited Architecture program, or equivalent international degree) at time of hire.
For those who are not U.S. citizens or permanent residents, a legal permit that allows work in the United States (such as a U.S. visa that allows employment) is required by the start date of the position. The department is unable to provide a visa/work permit.
Three or more years teaching college‑level courses.
