Position Overview
Lecturer
Salary: $70,977 - $199,722 (full‑time). Pay is based on UC academic salary scales.
Percent time: generally part‑time (5‑100%).
Anticipated start:
Fall 2026 or later.
Lecturers will prepare course materials such as syllabi and maintain course websites. They will hold office hours, assess and provide feedback on student work, assign grades, and advise students. Lecturers are expected to have teaching responsibilities in lecture courses during the law‑school calendar.
QualificationsBasic qualifications (required at time of application)
- Bachelor's degree, or equivalent international degree.
Additional qualifications (required at time of start)
- J.D., Ph.D., M.B.A., LL.M., or Master's degree, or equivalent international degree, and a minimum of three years of professional experience in legal practice, judicial clerkship, or law school teaching in the United States.
- Bachelor's degree and a minimum of six years of professional experience in legal practice, judicial clerkship, or law school teaching in the United States.
- Availability to teach in‑person during required law‑school class times.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience teaching courses in a United States law school.
- Five or more years of legal practice experience in the United States or another jurisdiction, in Civil Litigation and Procedure.
- Effective verbal, written communication and presentation skills (English).
- Ability to support the success of all students through an inclusive curriculum, classroom environment, and pedagogy.
- Effective organizational skills with attention to detail.
