The Physical Education Program at the University of California, Berkeley seeks applicants for non-tenure track lecturer positions.

Successful candidates will teach physical activity courses at elementary through advanced levels in physical education, in the following subject areas:

  • Dance:
    Ballet
  • Outdoor

    Education:

    Hiking, Archery
  • Fitness:
    Resistance Training, Circuit Weight Training, Aerobics, Cardio, Boxing for Fitness, Running
  • Sports:
    Basketball, Badminton, Tennis
  • Aquatics:
    Swimming all levels, SUP, Water Polo
  • Fencing

In addition to teaching responsibilities, general duties may include: holding office hours, assigning grades, advising students, preparing course materials (e.g. syllabus), creating and grading exams, and using a learning management system (e.g. bCourses) and/or maintaining a course website.

Qualifications

Basic qualifications (required at time of application):
Bachelor's degree (or equivalent international degree).

Additional qualifications (required at time of start):
Two years of prior teaching experience

Preferred qualifications:

One year of experience teaching college level courses, Master's Degree (or equivalent international degree). Professional accomplishments or recognition in one or more area of specialization.
