Position Description

The Department of Sociology at the University of California, Berkeley seeks applications for a tenure‑track, Assistant Professor faculty position. Candidates will be considered regardless of field of specialization. The position's duties include academic research and publications, undergraduate and graduate teaching, and administrative service.

PhD (or equivalent international degree), or enrolled in a PhD or equivalent international degree‑granting program at the time of application.

Preferred qualifications

Include participation in professional or scientific associations, service on committees that advance department, campus, or discipline goals, and outreach activities that remove barriers and increase participation.
