- Serves 12,000 undergraduates annually, approximately 30% of the undergraduate student population, in 12 academic and co‑curricular programs.
- Employs 18 professional staff with disciplinary expertise, 300+ trained undergraduate tutors, and 20 graduate student instructors.
- Serves as the liaison between Berkeley administration and the DeCal program, a partnership that adds over 300 additional courses to the university's curriculum.

The SLC Strategic Learning Program Coordinator assists the Program Assistant Directors in the administration of the SLC Strategic Learning Program. This position provides direct academic support services to students and manages the daily operations of the program.

Responsibilities- Provides individual and small‑group academic coaching to undergraduate students across disciplines, helping students develop effective learning strategies, study skills, time management, organization, goal setting, and other academic success practices.
- Assists with the coordination and day‑to‑day operations of the Strategic Learning Program, including scheduling appointments and workshops, maintaining program materials, supporting student participation, and ensuring smooth delivery of services.
- Assesses students’ academic learning needs and recommends appropriate learning strategies, campus resources, and referrals to other Student Learning Center programs or university support services when appropriate.
- Facilitates workshops, presentations, and other educational programming on evidence‑informed learning strategies, academic success skills, and student transition topics for undergraduate students.
- Maintains accurate student records and utilizes program intake, assessment, and evaluation tools to document services, monitor student progress, and support program assessment efforts.
- Collaborates with Student Learning Center colleagues to support student success initiatives, outreach activities, and Center‑wide operational needs.
- Participates in professional development, staff meetings, training activities, and other duties as assigned to support the mission and continuous improvement of the Strategic Learning Program and the Student Learning Center.
- Knowledge of foundational learning strategies, study skills, and academic success practices for undergraduate students.
- Knowledge of and/or ability to learn about student development principles and campus academic support resources.
- Knowledge of basic program coordination, data maintenance, and administrative practices.
- Skill in providing individual and group academic coaching to students from diverse academic backgrounds and learning needs, including neurodivergent students.
- Skill in effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication.
- Ability to assess students’ learning needs and recommend appropriate learning strategies and campus resources.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues while managing multiple responsibilities in a student‑centered environment.
- Multicultural competencies; knowledge and experience working and interacting effectively with diverse groups of staff, faculty, and student populations.
- Ability to adapt coaching approaches to meet diverse learning styles and academic needs under general supervision.
