Position Overview
The Industrial Engineering & Operations Research Department Graduate Student Affairs Office is recruiting up to 10 Readers to assist the Admissions Committee in reading and evaluating applications for admissions to our professional master’s programs. The role includes reviewing approximately 120 applications, working 10–20 hours per week, typically from home or off‑campus. The appointment is part‑time, Limited Term, with primary term in mid‑January 2027 and secondary reviews in February.
There is a possibility for re‑appointment.
The First Review Date for this job is:
July 10, 2026. Applications will be reviewed on a continuous basis until openings are filled.
- Exercise professional judgment in reviewing, evaluating, and recommending applicants using established guidelines.
- Review and evaluate approximately 120 applications, including students’ transcripts, resumes, letters of recommendation, essays, and standardized test scores.
- Consult with experienced staff or faculty when reviewing more complex applications.
- Review admissions training materials and become familiar with prerequisite courses and equivalents.
- Ability to read 10–20 hours each week.
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
- Ability to analyze and synthesize large amounts of information.
- Familiarity with STEM degrees and courses.
- Position requires successful completion of a background check.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related area and/or equivalent experience/training.
Hourly compensation range: $29.31 to $39.85. The position is part‑time (10–20 hours per week), limited‑term, FLSA non‑exempt, paid biweekly.
