Position Overview
Position title: Assistant Professor
Salary range: $84,100-$132,900 (9‑month academic year salary). Off‑scale salary and additional components may result in higher compensation.
Anticipated start: July 1, 2027.
- Teach graduate seminars and undergraduate courses in the Department’s Public Discourse concentration.
- Mentor graduate students in the Ph.D. program.
- Participate in departmental and campus life.
- Contribute to the interdisciplinary study of law and/or politics, engaging with the rhetoric and traditions of politics, legal thought, history, humanities, socio‑legal studies, and related fields.
- Ph.D. (or equivalent international degree) or enrollment in such a program at the time of application.
- Strong research agenda and scholarly potential aligned with the Department’s strengths in aesthetics, gender and sexuality, religion, science & technology, and the environment.
- Experience teaching at graduate and undergraduate levels.
- Broad competence in home disciplines and understanding of the Department’s interdisciplinary profile.
- Evidence of international collaborations, public scholarship, creative work, or other modes of intellectual labor.
- Completion of Ph.D. by July 1, 2027 preferred.
