The Haas School Of Business At The University Of California, Berkeley Invites Applications For A Tenure-Track Faculty Position In Management Of Organizations With An Expected Start Date Of July 1, 2027.

The Management Of Organizations Faculty Group Seeks To Hire An Individual Who Conducts Research On Entrepreneurship And/Or Innovation. We Are Open To A Wide Range Of Theoretical Traditions And Methodological Approaches But Are Especially Interested In Individuals Whose Work Uncovers Novel Insights Into The Sociological And Economic Mechanisms That Drive Behavior In Organizations.

The Management Of Organizations (MORS) Group Focuses On Understanding The Sociological, Psychological, And Economic Processes That Drive Behavior Within Organizations. Key Areas Of Study Include Innovation, Culture, Social Networks, Entrepreneurship, Power And Status, Negotiations And Conflict Resolution, Non-Verbal Communication, Judgment And Decision-Making, Diversity, And Self And Person Perception.

Faculty In The MORS Group Train Students At All Levels—Undergraduate, MBA, PhD, And Executive—To Understand How These Core Themes Affect Organizational Performance And The Impact That Organizations Have On Society. Students Learn To Analyze Complex Organizations, Identify The Causes Of Suboptimal Performance And Inequality, And Develop And Implement Effective Interventions At The Micro (Individual) And Macro (Organizational) Levels.

Basic Qualifications (Required At Time Of Application)

Applicants Must Have A Ph.D. (Or Equivalent International Degree) Or Be Enrolled In A Ph.D. (Or Equivalent International Degree) Granting Program At The Time Of Application.

Preferred Qualifications

We Are Especially Interested In Applicants With A Ph.D. In Management, Organizational Behavior, Sociology, Or Other Closely Related Fields. We Prefer Applicants Who Currently Have A Ph.D. Or Who Have Advanced To Ph.D. Candidacy And Will Complete The Doctoral Degree Or Equivalent Degree Within Six Months Of The Start Date. Preference Will Be Given To Scholars Who Have Not Yet Held A Tenure-Track Position Or Other International Equivalent Tenure-Track Faculty Position.
