The Haas Undergraduate Program Office (UGPO) is part of the larger Haas Undergraduate Programs. There are four distinct undergraduate programs within the Haas School of Business:
Spieker Undergraduate Business Program, Global Management Program, Robinson Life Sciences, Business, and Entrepreneurship Program (LSBE), and Management, Entrepreneurship, and Technology Program (M.E.T.).

The Undergraduate Program Office has three distinct teams:
Admissions, Academics, and Student Affairs who support the undergraduate business students. The team created a set of values together rooted in collaboration and support for one another. Responsibilities

The Intake Advisor serves as the first point of contact for students requesting Haas Undergraduate Program services. The Intake Advisor oversees Haas Undergraduate in-person and virtual front desks and Haas email advising services. Additionally, Intake Advisors clarify general College and major policies and procedures, provide guidance on petition and form submissions, and help students assess whether to make an appointment with a Haas College Advisor or other resource on campus.

Additionally, the Intake Advisor manages the Haas Undergraduate Program Office front reception area, which includes print and electronic student communications. They also support the Haas Undergraduate Program with daily operations by ordering supplies, reviewing invoices, and tracking reimbursements when needed. The role requires a broad understanding of administrative functions and technical problems involved in a fast-paced, academic advising office at a large public university.

GENERAL ADVISING - 35%

  • Manage and staff the reception area and maintain a professional and positive attitude when responding to inquiries, requests, or complaints from students, parents, faculty, or staff.
    • Create communication strategy (important events, dates, deadlines) for reception area, along with signage for closures.
  • Apply general advising concepts to identify students’ needs, provide prescriptive academic assistance with academic requirements, and provide referrals to Haas Academic Advisors, Haas Admissions Advisors, Haas Student Affairs staff, Deans, and/or other appropriate campus resources.
  • Listen to and empathize with students experiencing a wide range of difficulties.
  • Work with student workers to assist students in understanding college and major degree requirements (general education, breadth, majors, academic probation, dismissal, declaring candidacy for degree, upper division units, withdrawal).
    • Explain deadlines and general College/Major policies (adding and dropping classes, in completes, grading policies).
  • Communicate University and College rules and regulations (unit limitations, AP credit, concurrent enrollment, minimum/maximum units, repeating courses, and time to graduation).
  • Review and process petitions and forms that may require additional collaboration and communication with campus partners, such as Undergraduate Advising Staff and Office of the Registrar.
