Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full development lifecycle for BTM solar and BESS projects, from contract execution to NTP.
- Oversee project budgets, schedules, milestones, and risk assessments.
- Coordinate internal and external project meetings, including with Fortune 500 and large public agency customers.
- Lead negotiations and execution of contract changes prior to NTP.
Technical & Regulatory Coordination
- Oversee environmental, biological, engineering, and permitting processes at the local, state, and federal levels.
- Direct interconnection activities and ensure all requirements are met in a timely manner.
- Identify pre‑construction issues and support resolution prior to obtainment of building permits.
Stakeholder & Consultant Management
- Maintain proactive relationships with customers, utilities, landowners, permitting agencies, and other relevant stakeholders.
- Manage third‑party consultants, including environmental, biological, engineering, and land agents; oversee associated contracting and deliverables.
- Liaise with technical teams to optimize layouts, engineering deliverables, EPC preparation, and construction planning.
Commercial & Internal Alignment
- Prepare and deliver project updates and progress reports to senior management.
- Support internal approvals, project handovers to construction, and financial model development.
- Assist in evaluating new development opportunities, conducting competitive analysis, and supporting offtake pricing development.
- Provide guidance to Land Acquisition Specialists to ensure bankable land agreements.
- Contribute to the development pipeline strategy, long‑term planning, and annual budget cycles.
- Assist with project finance and sell‑down material preparation as required.
- Support efforts to monitor and improve development processes and portfolio performance.
Qualifications & Experience
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 5–7 years of experience in development, permitting, land, and interconnection for solar and/or BESS projects.
- Strong understanding of environmental regulations, permitting processes, incentives, and market dynamics in CAISO, ERCOT, PJM, and other U.S. power markets.
- Experience negotiating and managing MSAs, PPAs, EPC contracts, LOIs, lease/tolling agreements, and O&M contracts.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information effectively to diverse audiences.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within cross‑functional teams.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel), MS Project, and PowerPoint.
- Willingness to travel 20–30% to support project needs.
