A Solid Works Designer job opportunity is available with our client in Berkeley, CA . In this role you will design and deploy a fire suppression system for each group of Battery packs (called a quad pack). This fire suppression system shall ensure the safety of operators and limit damage in the event of a fire from within or external to each battery pack.

Job Duties

* Completed design and 3D definition of the fire suppression system mechanical components and assemblies. Many components will be off-the shelf parts that require sourcing and integration.

a) Enclosure including doors and passthroughs for pipes and wires

b) Mounting provisions for components within the enclosure

c) Mounting provisions for off-the-shelf HVAC system

d) External and internal piping including valves and nozzles Confidential Information

e) Clean agent cylinders and release modules

f) External and internal harnesses

g) Mounting provisions for piping and harnesses

h) Mounting provisions for temperature detectors, horns, and manual release assemblies

* Completed 2D definition of the fire suppression system mechanical components and assemblies

a) Enclosure including doors and passthroughs for pipes and wires

b) Mounting provisions for components within the enclosure

c) Mounting provisions for off-the-shelf HVAC system

d) External and internal piping including valves and nozzles

e) Clean agent cylinders and release modules

f) External and internal harnesses

g) Mounting provisions for piping and harnesses

h) Mounting provisions for temperature detectors, horns, and manual release assemblies

* Access to PDM system for CAD file management. A Google Drive or SharePoint will be set up for file sharing PDFs and notes across the team. The contractor team will be set up for Arena PLM access for direct upload of drawings to PLM.

Knowledge/Skills/Experience

* Able to complete 3D data and 2D drawings.

* Strong Knowledge of Solid Works

* Familiar with PDM systems for CAD file management
