Job Description & How to Apply Below

We’re ALTEN Technology USA, an engineering company helping clients bring groundbreaking ideas to life—from advancing space exploration and life‑saving medical devices to building autonomous electric vehicles. With 3,000+ experts across North America, we partner with leading companies in aerospace, medical devices, robotics, automotive, commercial vehicles, EVs, rail, and more.

As part of the global ALTEN Group—57,000+ engineers in 30 countries—we deliver across the entire product development cycle, from consulting to full project outsourcing.

When you join ALTEN Technology USA, you’ll collaborate on some of the world’s toughest engineering challenges, supported by mentorship, career growth opportunities, and comprehensive benefits. We take pride in fostering a culture where employees feel valued, supported, and inspired to grow.

We are looking for a Systems Engineer to join our team and bridge the gap between complex subsystem designs and high‑level product architecture. You will be responsible for defining the technical requirements, interfaces, and integration strategies that ensure our large‑scale energy storage systems operate reliably and safely. This role requires a holistic mindset, strong collaboration across multidisciplinary teams (mechanical, electrical, controls, and manufacturing), and a drive to solve tough technical challenges in service of our clean energy mission.

Responsibilities
  • Define and manage system‑level requirements, functional specifications, and interface control documents for core battery system architecture.
  • Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, and firmware engineering teams to ensure subsystem designs are seamlessly integrated and meet performance targets.
  • Lead system‑level validation and integration testing, developing test plans that verify safety, reliability, and functionality under diverse operating conditions.
  • Perform trade‑off analyses to optimize system performance, cost, and manufacturability, identifying potential risks early in the development lifecycle.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for complex system‑level failures, working cross‑functionally to implement effective engineering solutions.
  • Decompose requirements and functions from system‑level down to component‑level, ensuring traceability.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (Systems, Electrical, Mechanical, or equivalent) with 3+ years of professional experience.
  • Strong understanding of systems engineering principles, including requirements management, interface definition, and lifecycle development.
  • Experience in multidisciplinary integration, preferably in power electronics, battery systems, or large‑scale electro‑mechanical hardware.
  • Proficiency with electrical battery systems.
  • Proficiency with technical modeling and documentation tools (e.g., MATLAB/Simulink, SysML, or similar) to manage system architecture and performance data.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to bridge communication gaps between specialized engineering domains and non‑technical stakeholders.
Salary Range
  • $,000
  • The actual salary offered is dependent on various factors including, but not limited to, location, the candidate’s combination of job‑related knowledge, qualifications, skills, education, training, and experience.

All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment and will not be discriminated against on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, protected veteran status, age, genetic information, or pregnancy.
