About the Role

Electrical Harness Design Engineer with advanced proficiency in Zuken and solid knowledge of PCBA design principles. Responsible for end-to-end development of electrical harnesses, including schematic generation, layout, and production-ready documentation for high-volume, scalable manufacturing. We are seeking a Subject Matter Expert in Zuken who can take full ownership of harness and electrical design tasks with autonomy.

Compensation: $47.50 to $55.00 per hour.

Core Responsibilities
  • Engineer and refine electrical wire harness systems for high-volume manufacturing environments.
  • Use Zuken to generate comprehensive harness schematics, layouts, and detailed assembly documentation.
  • Manage and update PCBA electrical layouts and schematics to support project needs.
  • Contribute to the creation of reliable, scalable products to enable successful mass production.
  • Select appropriate components and connectors by evaluating electrical, mechanical, environmental, and manufacturing constraints.
  • Verify that all designs meet reliability, manufacturing, and certification requirements to maintain quality standards.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing and cross-functional engineering teams to facilitate seamless project execution.
Required Qualifications
  • Demonstrated mastery of Zuken software at an SME level.
  • Extensive experience in the documentation and design of electrical harnesses.
  • Practical experience in the layout and schematic design of PCBs.
  • Ability to execute design projects independently without the need for technical oversight.
  • Strong foundation in electrical fundamentals including voltage, current, grounding, electromagnetic considerations, component selection, connector criteria, assembly processes, and PCBA design basics.
Preferred Industry Experience
  • Background in automotive or similar high-volume production sectors.
  • Experience developing products intended for large-scale manufacturing (millions of units).
  • Commitment to reliability, scalability, and manufacturability in all designs.
Additional Preferred Knowledge
  • Understanding of environmental protection standards and IP ratings.
  • Familiarity with electrical certification requirements.
  • Proficiency in Design for Assembly (DFA) and Design for Manufacturing (DFM) methodologies.
