Overall Function:
Reporting to the Director of Knowledge Strategy & Enablement, the Senior Compliance Engineer will coordinate product safety, environmental, regulatory, and market-access compliance activities across new product development, sustaining engineering, manufacturing, and global certification programs for Meyer Sound. The Senior Compliance Engineer will work closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, NPI, outside test laboratories, certification bodies, and regional partners to ensure Meyer Sound products meet applicable domestic and international requirements.
This is a full-time exempt position earning between $85K-190K per year.
- Manage and support product safety and global certification activities for professional audio products, including compliance with applicable UL/NRTL, IEC, EN, CB Scheme, FCC, Canadian, EU, and international requirements.
- Coordinate product submissions, sample readiness, documentation packages, test plans, test schedules, retesting, issue resolution, and certification deliverables with agencies, laboratories, and internal stakeholders.
- Support environmental and product stewardship compliance programs, including RoHS, WEEE, IEC 63000, packaging, labeling, supplier declarations, recycling/disassembly documentation, and related global requirements.
- Maintain compliance matrices, certification trackers, technical files, risk indicators, sample submission status, open action items, and deliverable schedules for active product programs.
- Provide clear compliance status updates to Engineering, Manufacturing, Product Management, leadership, and regional market-access stakeholders.
- Monitor new and changing global regulations that may affect product compliance, market access, labeling, documentation, technical files, or manufacturer obligations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Regulatory Compliance, Quality, or a related technical field; equivalent hands-on experience may be considered.
- Experience working in a manufacturing or product development environment with responsibility for electrical/electronic product compliance.
- Practical experience supporting UL, NRTL, IEC, EN, CB Scheme, FCC, Canadian, EU, or other global compliance programs.
- Ability to read and interpret standards, agency reports, test plans, declarations, certificates, technical reports, BOM documentation, schematics, labels, and manufacturing records.
- Experience coordinating with third-party test laboratories, certification bodies, notified bodies, NRTLs, consultants, suppliers, and internal engineering teams.
- Strong project coordination skills, attention to detail, and ability to maintain organized, audit-ready compliance records.
- Experience with professional audio, power electronics, amplifiers, loudspeakers, AV systems, networked products, or other high-reliability electronic equipment.
- Experience supporting global market access for the EU, U.S., Canada, Korea, India, Mexico, China, Japan, Australia, Singapore, Malaysia, and other international territories.
- Familiarity with environmental compliance, emerging EU regulatory frameworks, product recertification, manufacturing transfers, alternate components, labeling updates, and compliance dashboards or certification matrices.
