Associate Engineering Manager – LV & HV Harness Design

Lead design of LV & HV harnessing/cable architecture for large battery systems. Report to the HV & LV Systems Product Development team, owning wire harness development from concept to production launch.

Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership, functional management, and technical direction to a team of electromechanical engineers.
  • Hire, train and manage mechanical and electrical engineers, including FTEs, contractors, and outside consultants.
  • Manage cable and harness design activities across multiple programs for Form's long‑duration energy storage products.
  • Deliver accurate project plans and schedules and work cross‑functionally with engineering, program management, supply chain, and manufacturing teams.
  • Establish engineering processes, best practices, design guidelines, and tools for repeatable, high‑quality deliverables.
  • Support department growth through mentoring, coaching, and technical guidance.
  • Conduct root cause investigations and implement corrective actions for cable and harness design and production issues.
  • Travel 10‑20% to Form manufacturing sites to support build activities, debugging, reworks, and DFM/DFA improvements.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 7 years of relevant harness design experience in HV battery and/or automotive products.
  • Minimum 2 years of people‑management experience.
  • Knowledge of battery systems, high‑voltage systems, HV & LV distribution, EMC strategies, and communication protocols (CAN, LIN, Ethernet).
  • Proficiency in Zuken E3, Solid Works, or equivalent design software.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to organize, motivate, and lead geographically dispersed teams.
  • Positive attitude, adaptability, and commitment to mentoring and career development.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical fundamentals with a first‑principles mindset.
  • Proven ability to handle multiple priorities, organize workloads, and meet tight delivery timelines.
