Senior Associate; Berkeley, CA

Vega is currently looking for aSenior Associate to join our team on-site in the Berkeley, CA office. Our Senior Associates take responsibility for managing engagements with teams of 2-5 people, as well as managing work streams within large, complex engagements. They are included in client communication and are given responsibility to develop and conduct complex quantitative analysis. Typically, Senior Associates have either recently received their

PhD or have work experience in economics consulting and an advanced degree in economics, statistics, finance or related field.

• Assist with the development and delivery of sophisticated economic analyses
• Critically review model functionality
• Take responsibility for day-to-day progression and on time completion of engagements
• Provide direction and guidance to Associates
• Conduct independent research and analysis of economic and financial issues
• Aid in the preparation of reports and materials communicating complex concepts and analyses to clients

• Master's degree or higher from an accredited college/university
• 3 years prior work experience
• Exceptional analytical and quantitative skills
• Adept in Microsoft Office with an emphasis on Excel
• Firm grasp of economics principles, financial analysis, and statistical techniques
• Advanced verbal and written communication skills
• Ability and desire to self-direct professional development
• Proficiency with one or more of the following statistical programming languages: MATLAB, Python, R, SAS, Stata, SQL
• Experience in economic/econometric modeling
