Mental Health Therapist – Group Practice (Berkeley, CA)
A Mental Health Therapist will provide group and individual therapy to students in elementary schools in Berkeley, delivering evidence-based interventions and maintaining compliance with agency policies.
Responsibilities- Run 3–4 therapy groups per day at 2–3 elementary schools in Berkeley.
- Provide individual therapy to 1–2 students per day.
- Accumulate an average of 5–6 billable hours per day.
- Create curricula for group topics such as emotion regulation, depression, autism, trauma, etc.
- Graduate clients within one school year and support a 75% reduction in symptoms based on baseline data.
- Administer outcome measurements (e.g., GAD‑7, PHQ‑9) following Quality Assurance guidelines.
- Submit clinical notes timely as directed by the Program Director and QA teams.
- Participate in monthly All Staff Meetings and monthly meetings with the Clinical Director, Program Director, and supervisors to align on school needs.
- Engage in monthly coaching and training opportunities requested by the Program Director and QA team.
- Coordinate with school staff, teachers, administrators, and parents to align services.
- Complete all required paperwork, including Medi-Cal documentation, and attend monthly CQRT meetings.
- Provide services in compliance with HIPAA, CAMFT, and NASW standards.
- Adhere to all agency policies and regulations.
- Demonstrate competency in cultural issues related to race, ethnicity, nationality, class, religion, and sexual orientation.
Salary: $32 per hour to $36 per hour.
Type: Part‑time, 20 hours per week.
Minimum Qualifications- Licensure as LMFT, LCSW, LPCC, or PsyD.
- Experience working in schools within a multicultural, diverse urban community.
- Knowledge of trauma‑informed practices.
- Experience collaborating with parents, teachers, and school staff.
- Experience with Medi‑Cal paperwork (plus).
- Spanish language highly desirable.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to maintain priorities amid varying challenges.
- Capability to work flexibly with people and organizations of differing viewpoints.
