This pharmacist position (internal title: Customer Care Pharmacist) is a customer facing role that is responsible for consultations, clarifications, and customer service. This is a part-time position, working 24 hours a week and reporting directly to the Customer Care Manager.
What you'll do- Verify order entries and charges
- Review and interpret physician orders, detecting therapeutic incompatibilities
- Provide pharmacological information by answering questions and requests of healthcare professionals
- Counsel patients on drug therapies
- Offer excellent customer service to patients, providers, and vendors
- Develop staff's pharmacological knowledge by participating in clinical programs; training pharmacy staff, students, interns, externs, residents, and health care professionals
- Comply with state and federal drug laws as regulated by the state board of pharmacy, the drug enforcement administration, and the food and drug administration; maintaining records for controlled substances; removing outdated and damaged drugs from the pharmacy inventory; supervising the work results of support personnel; maintaining current registration; studying existing and new legislation; anticipating legislation; advising management on needed actions
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Maintain pharmacological knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies
- Contribute to team effort by assisting the other departments such as lab and compliance
- A graduate of an accredited school of pharmacy with a Bachelor of Science or PharmD degree
- Licensed and in good standing with the CA Board of Pharmacy
- At least 1-3 years experience in pharmacy (compounding preferred but not required)
- Experience with pharmacy software, pharmacology, knowledge of legal compliance, FDA health regulations
- Pass drug screen test, background check, and the pre-employment verification process

- Working Conditions:
standing, walking, sitting, reaching above shoulders, reaching waist level, reaching below the knee, climbing, lifting above shoulder up to 20 lbs and lifting waist level up to 20 lbs.
