Position SummaryUnder general supervision of the Pharmacy Director, the Per Diem Pharmacy Technician performs a full range of duties in an outpatient/community retail pharmacy setting and is able to perform all general tasks expected of a pharmacy technician according to standards established by UC Berkeley’s University Health Services (UHS) Department of Pharmacy and the California State Board of Pharmacy.
The Per Diem Pharmacy Technician will assist the pharmacists in entering and filling prescription orders, record keeping and billing; maintaining inventory levels; and checking out prescriptions to UHS patients. Will perform assigned operational duties in a scheduled area and assist pharmacists in completing medication orders and related distribution duties. Demonstrate knowledge of pharmacy regulations for both California and the federal government.
Strong customer service and interpersonal skills working with both patients and professionals required.

Responsibilities- Completion of Prescription Orders:
Receives prescription and OTC orders from prescribers; enters prescription information accurately; fills pharmacist-verified orders quickly and accurately; records and processes refill requests - Inventory Control:
Orders medications and supplies and stocks pharmacy appropriately and in a cost effective manner; checks supplies and medications and restocks as appropriate; accurately maintains purchase records; removes expired and otherwise unusable medications from pharmacy and clinics; returns all prescription to stock if not picked up within 7 business days - Cashiering and Clerk Functions:
