About the Organization
A nationally recognized research institution where your work directly supports groundbreaking scientific programs. We build the infrastructure behind some of the most impactful research in the country.
About the RoleAs a Scrum Master, you will lead multiple Scrum teams and serve as a champion of Agile practices across the organization. You'll facilitate all Scrum ceremonies, remove blockers, coach teams toward self‑organization, and help build a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement.
What You’ll Do- Lead multiple Scrum teams using Agile methodologies in sprint or Kanban environments
- Facilitate all Scrum ceremonies — daily stand‑ups, sprint planning, backlog refinement, demos, and retrospectives
- Coach teams and the broader organization on Scrum practices, fostering a culture of real value delivery
- Support Product Owners with backlog management, scope, stakeholder requests, and priority setting
- Build and maintain reports for velocity, burndown, capacity, and project planning to provide ongoing insights
- Drive story point estimation, roadmap adjustments, quarterly planning, and cross‑functional collaboration
- Resolve conflicts, remove impediments, and reduce context switching to accelerate team performance
- Provide support within planning and reporting tools such as Jira
- Foster a team culture grounded in commitment, focus, openness, respect, and courage
- Bachelor’s or Advanced Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
- Scrum Master certification (CSM, PSM, or equivalent)
- 5+ years of experience in a Scrum Master or Product Owner role within a software development environment
- Hands‑on experience with Jira
- Proven experience coaching teams new to Agile and Scrum
- Excellent communication, active listening, and servant leadership skills
- Deep knowledge of Scrum elements and artifacts — user stories, sprints, Kanban boards, backlog refinement, velocity, definition of done, and more
- Strong conflict resolution skills with the ability to think quickly and act calmly under pressure
- Outstanding organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple teams simultaneously
- Highly flexible and adaptable in fast‑paced, rapidly changing environments
- Empathetic coach who puts people first and understands team dynamics
- Ability to lead Agile transformation efforts while honoring team culture, norms, and values
