Position title: Lecturer
Salary range: Starting full‑time equivalent annual salary $140,169. Appointments: 1–3 sections per term, approximately $8,181 per section at 17% FTE per academic term (Summer 2025). Salary increases in subsequent terms per labor contract.
Percent time: 10% to 100%
Anticipated start: January, May, August
Review timeline: Applicants considered as needs arise. Existence of pool does not guarantee a position.
Position duration: Initial up to one year with possibility of renewal based on need, funding, performance.
Responsibilities- Deliver engaging online classes: plan and lead synchronous online sessions with active learning, facilitate discussions, group activities, and practical exercises.
- Facilitate student‑centered learning: provide personalized support via virtual office hours, moderate online discussions, and use student analytics to identify and support individual learning needs.
- Design and refine course materials: develop and update instructional materials, assignments, and assessments; ensure alignment with program objectives and inclusivity.
- Provide constructive feedback: deliver timely, actionable feedback on student assignments and projects.
- Maintain course operations: use LMS and educational technology tools to manage course websites, post assignments, and communicate with students.
- Collaborate with faculty teams: participate in course meetings, align instructional practices, address challenges, and share teaching strategies; attend monthly or bi‑monthly faculty meetings.
- Advance online pedagogy: engage in faculty development programs and share insights to improve the learning experience.
- Promote inclusion: foster an inclusive, equitable learning environment that respects diverse perspectives.
- Basic qualifications (required at time of application): Bachelor’s degree or equivalent international degree.
- Additional qualifications (required at time of start): Minimum 4 years professional experience in the relevant field;
Minimum 2 years teaching or professional development experience in higher education or industry. - Preferred qualifications:
- Advanced degree in Cybersecurity, Information, Information Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Political Science, Sociology, Law, Economics, or related fields.
- 10+ years professional experience in these fields.
- Demonstrated excellence in teaching college‑level courses, including online instruction.
- Familiarity with collaborative learning techniques and student‑centered methods.
- Organizational skills and ability to complete assignments timely and accurately with minimal supervision.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to support a diverse community through inclusive curriculum and pedagogy.
- Teaching or in‑depth knowledge in at least one core area:
