Compensation: $80 per hour

Employment Type: 1‑Year Contract (Extension or Conversion Possible)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Service Now Senior Administrator to support and enhance enterprise IT Service Management processes through the Service Now platform. The role focuses on improving operational efficiency, enabling automation, and ensuring reliable Service Now platform performance across multiple environments. The ideal candidate will have deep experience administering and developing within Service Now and the ability to collaborate across teams to optimize business processes and deliver scalable solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain the integrity, availability, and performance of all Service Now environments, including Sandbox, Development, Test, and Production.
  • Provide day‑to‑day administration and support for the Service Now platform.
  • Manage and maintain Service Now user interfaces, including portals, platform UI, and mobile experiences.
  • Develop and configure platform components such as notifications, UI pages, UI macros, UI policies, UI actions, script includes, business rules, client scripts, for matters, and other Service Now configurations.
  • Create and maintain Update Sets, promoting changes through development, testing, and production environments.
  • Apply best practices for development, testing, and deployment of Service Now applications and modules.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to design and improve Requested Items, Record Producers, and workflows.
  • Assist with business process analysis, requirements gathering, and translating operational needs into Service Now solutions.
  • Troubleshoot complex platform issues requiring detailed analysis and evaluation of multiple variables.
  • Manage and escape Service Now incidents with platform support when needed.
  • Perform annual Service Now platform upgrades, including testing and remediation of upgrade‑related issues.
  • Identify new capabilities introduced in upgrades and recommend enhancements aligned with organizational goals.
  • Develop reports, dashboards, and analytics to support operational visibility and decision‑making.
  • Integrate Service Now with third‑party systems and maintain data synchronization across platforms.
  • Develop clear and concise technical documentation, process documentation, and project documentation.
  • Support vendor evaluations, contribute to Requests for Proposals (RFPs), and assist with Statements of Work (SOW).
  • Work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams to deliver high‑quality solutions and a positive user experience.
  • Participate in on‑call support as needed.
  • Maintain Service Now Administrator certification with each major platform release.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years of experience in system administration or enterprise platform administration.
  • 4+ years of experience administering and developing within Service Now in a production environment.
  • Experience managing complex, highly available cloud‑based platforms.
  • Strong experience with IT Service Management processes, including Incident Management, Change Management, Problem Management, Asset Management, and Configuration Management and CMDB.
  • Proficiency with JavaScript and HTML.
  • Experience collaborating with multiple business functions to design and improve operational processes.

Certifications
  • Certified Service Now Administrator (current with latest Service Now major release).
  • Service Now Developer Certification (preferred).
  • ITIL v3 or ITIL v4 certification (preferred).
