Overview

Senior Dev Sec Ops  Engineer — The Boeing Company, Berkeley, Missouri. Supports the Air Proprietary 2 Mission Systems team and the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Software Engineering organization.

The Mission Systems Senior Dev Sec Ops  Engineer is responsible for establishing, configuring, and maintaining the Mission Systems software development environments across multiple security levels. This role serves as the primary Dev Sec Ops  point of contact for Mission Systems and coordinates closely with the Digital Engineering Environment team.

• Leads the development and management of the software development environment roadmap and vision
• Leads the deployment and configuration of technologies and tools used in software development, including build servers, version control, CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks
• Leads the establishment, configuration, and maintenance of MS software development environments across multiple networks, including tools required for developing, building, and releasing software
• Leads the management and maintenance of cloud-based and on‑premises infrastructures
• Leads the creation and maintenance of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation to simplify infrastructure administration and software deployment
• Establishes and maintains development and production environments
• Ensures compliance and policy enforcement for applicable design practices and industry standards
• Leads the creation of best practices/methodologies for provisioning, platform scaling, configuration management, monitoring and troubleshooting
• Leads software development tool administration, maintenance, version upgrades, patch management, and integration between tools (Jira, Gitlab, Artifactory, Confluence, Sonar Qube, etc.)
• Mentors and advises junior teammates and development teams on best practices in Dev Sec Ops , providing technical leadership
• Coordinates across the Mission Systems solution team, the Digital Engineering Environment team and the Boeing Software Factory Enterprise team

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

• Bachelor’s Degree
• 6+ years of experience working with engineering, infrastructure, cloud, and/or Dev Ops teams
• 5+ years of experience in automated provisioning and configuring of software-defined infrastructure and designing for continuous deployment and continuous operations
• 3+ years of experience with automation and/or CI/CD techniques and design patterns
• 3+ years of experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) and CI/CD environments
• 3+ years of experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)

• Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (including manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science and 9+ years of related work experience OR Bachelor’s Degree and 13+ years of directly related work experience OR 17+ years of related, relevant experience
• 7+ years of experience with C, C++, C#, Java, or Python
• Experience with cloud platforms
• Experience with Agile software development and related processes
• Knowledge of industry standards and best practices in Dev Sec Ops
• Knowledge of cybersecurity policies and regulations, ability to work across these areas to formulate solutions
• Experience with secure software development environments at various levels of security
• Experience with Linux
• Ability to obtain Security+ certification
