Job Details

Our beautiful community, The Reserve at Thousand Oaks, is looking for a full-time Maintenance Assistant to join our team of senior living professionals.

Schedule:

Tuesday–Friday (8:00 am–4:30 pm).

Responsibilities
  • Maintain, clean, and repair all equipment and property as directed by work orders or supervisors, including floors, bathrooms, walls/ceilings, stairways, hallways, elevators, and surfaces using proper cleaning and disinfecting solutions.
  • Keep work areas safe by posting proper signs and keeping tools, chemicals, and equipment organized and put away when not in use.
  • Use appropriate safety equipment and report health, safety, and sanitation concerns to a supervisor.
  • Monitor the security of the community, including entry and exit doors.
  • Keep maintenance and storage areas clean, safe, and organized with chemicals, tools, paints, etc. properly sealed, labeled, and stored.
  • Follow established procedures for storing, using, and disposing of chemicals and waste; follow PPE policies when handling chemicals or cleaning products; follow MSDS labeling policies.
  • Address daily work orders such as replacing light bulbs, repairing resident furniture, bathrooms, kitchens, HVAC filters, and other general maintenance tasks to maintain the community s buildings, equipment, and furnishings.
  • Keep common areas, bathrooms, administration offices, and apartments clean, attractive, and functioning.
  • Troubleshoot and repair minor plumbing, electrical, and related issues and identify materials needed to complete repairs.
  • Plan, order, and perform interior/exterior painting and landscaping duties to keep grounds well kept and attractive.
  • Maintain and repair pools/spas and equipment to ensure full operation and compliance with governing regulations.
  • Prepare vacant apartments, including replacing window coverings, painting/caulking, shampooing carpets, and addressing related electrical, plumbing, and carpentry needs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Environmental Services or Executive Director.
Non-Essential

Job Duties
  • May assist in moving residents during emergencies and support maintenance team members in their duties as needed.
  • Display tact, friendliness, and professionalism with residents, team members, and guests; promote teamwork and open communication aligned with MBK principles and core values.
  • Assist in marketing the community by maintaining a positive and professional image.
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Demonstrate a deep commitment to customer service and ownership of community facilities.
Qualifications
  • Age 18 or over, or valid work permit/authorization
  • High school diploma or equivalent (if over 18)
  • Background clearances as required by government regulations
  • Health screening and negative TB test results within the last 6 months or within 7 days of employment
  • Valid driver s license and valid automobile insurance for state requirements
  • Prior mechanical/troubleshooting and ability to repair preferred; on-the-job training available
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English; follow oral and written directions
  • Ability to safely operate a variety of tools and equipment
