The Energy Institute at Haas (EI) is a premier center for energy economics and policy. Our mission is to advance an economically and environmentally sustainable energy future through rigorous research, teaching, and policy engagement. EI program staff collaborate closely with faculty to deliver research and outreach.

ResponsibilitiesThe Associate Director reports to the Executive Director of the Energy Institute at Haas (EI). The Associate Director independently manages the financial and research administration operations of the Energy Institute and the Strauch Cleantech to Market program. In collaboration with the Faculty Directors and Executive Director, the Associate Director engages in and supports outreach efforts to policymakers, governmental agencies and funding entities.
The Associate Director provides project management to multiple research projects and manages the acquisition and oversight of all confidential research data.
Administers the Energy Institute at Haas with primary responsibility for administrative research and programmatic activities, including all finance, human resources, contracts and grants responsibilities for the unit and for the Strauch Cleantech to Market (C2M) program.
- Hires all staff, graduate student researchers and affiliated researchers for research projects.
- Manages grant and non-grant funds to ensure they are compliant with all applicable rules.
- Creates grant fund projections and advises faculty on acceptable uses.
