Summary

This position will assist with the development and implementation of policies and procedures relating to donor center operations, provide direction, training and mentoring to the team to facilitate efficiency and effectiveness of all processes related to the Donor Center, and is accountable for maintaining all safety and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and supervise Donor Center operations, ensuring production excellence, customer and donor service;
  • Manage donor center operations, including setting production goals, monitoring net yields, and implementing improvement plans as needed.
  • Establish and maintain necessary staffing to manage site workload.
  • Ensure site quality compliance with SOPs, State and Federal regulations, OSHA, CLIA, and cGMP standards; review site Quality Control and participate in Quality Assurance initiatives, implement effective corrective action plans for non‑compliance, customer complaints, or departmental deviations.
  • Determine donor eligibility, manage donor reactions and incidents, review testing, and notify donors per SOPs.
  • Assist in implementing donor retention improvement and corrective action plans, identify opportunities for enhanced efficiencies and improved quality.
  • Monitor donor retention and ensure efficient donor flow; meet daily, weekly, and monthly deadlines and maintain operational records.
  • Develop and foster a center philosophy of continuous improvement and support company values.
  • Oversee donor screening process, phlebotomy, complete medical histories, scheduling and communicate with the Medical Director for technical, donor safety and eligibility issues; document results and outcomes.
  • Create a welcoming environment for donors to increase donor retention.
  • Supervise staff, including hiring, training, evaluation, discipline, and recognition; ensure proficiency levels.
  • Manage supply inventory to optimum levels by maximizing efficiencies and minimizing investment.
  • Ensure effective internal and external communications among functional teams.
  • Manage maintenance and routine service and calibration of scientific and technical instrumentation.
  • Oversee a clean and functioning donor center facility through a daily, weekly, monthly, or annual cleaning and maintenance program.
  • Perform other duties as necessary; approve site expenditures; manage customer and regulatory audits.
Qualifications
  • Minimum three (3) years’ experience recruiting, hiring, training, and managing employee performance.
  • Minimum one (1) year experience with responsibility for financial management and/or budgeting.
  • Preferred minimum three (3) years’ experience within blood banking, lab management or related field.
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Associate degree, diploma or B.S. in Nursing.
  • Highly motivated and assertive.
  • Strong multitasking abilities in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment.
Certifications, Licenses, and Registrations
  • Current licensure in good standing.
Language Skills
  • Good oral and written communication.
Mathematical Skills
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, algebra and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to perform routine calculations as directed.
