Position Description

This position requires California commercial electrician certification. Superintendent acts as primary leader and manager of field construction on a project. Superintendent manages the specific parts of the project budget (e.g. field labor, equipment) as defined by the Project Manager.

Responsibilities
  • Implement and monitor the Safety Plan for the project and ensure all subcontractors comply with the Safety Plan. Create and implement site specific Job Hazard Analysis (JHA).
  • Collaborate with Project Manager and Lead Engineer to create project's milestone schedule.
  • Plan, coordinate, schedule and dispatch specific crews and individual installers to jobsites to perform field work activities per the project schedule.
  • Oversee and manage project timeline and budget.
  • Optimize the profitability of the company through field planning and efficiency yet without jeopardizing the quality, safety or timely completion of the project.
  • Walk through projects with client and Project Manager for punch list. Monitor and complete outstanding issues: company punch list then client punch list.
  • Review BOM (bill of materials) and verify correct materials delivery in time to maintain work flow.
  • Perform site walks and pre-construction evaluation.
  • Coordinate deliveries, handling, storage and placement of materials on the jobsite.
  • Review and analyze Cost Report Information.
  • Oversee daily time reporting, review, and approve Foreperson's hours through our timekeeping application (Work Max) to ensure 100% accuracy and compliance of reported time.
  • Manage, develop and support Foreperson in their accountabilities (e.g., organize their work, execute safety programs, meet the client's project mission, report on jobsite progress and approve timesheets daily)
  • Assess Foreperson's performance providing constructive feedback on what they are doing well and specific areas of improvement so that each team member can improve their performance.
  • Work in close collaboration with HR to address any disciplinary issues and establish performance improvement plans, if required, in order to support team members to improve their performance.
  • Respond promptly to payroll's requests for correction to time reporting.
  • Responsible, with the Project Manager, for project conformance with the agreement and Contract Documents (plans, specifications, clarifications, etc.)
  • Prepare and manage the company's designated project management and collaboration apps for all assigned jobs, which will include current plans, contract docs, and photos.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

• ACTIVE CALIFORNIA COMMERCIAL JOURNEYMAN ELECTRICIAN STATUS REQUIRED.

• Strong management, leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing.

• Experience managing teams to meet deadlines on time and on budget.

• Proven experience managing work sites and crew members including providing appropriate action and coaching to improve behavior and/or performance.

• Previous experience teaching Installers the basic practices of PV preferred.

• Knowledge of AC and DC electrical systems and National Electric Code.

• Ability to commission PV systems and troubleshoot common problems (i.e. ground faults, polarity).

• Basic carpentry skills.
