Responsibilities
The Executive Director of the Robinson Life Science, Business and Entrepreneurship (LSBE) Program, along with the LSBE Faculty Co-Directors, leads the continued development of this multi-disciplinary program on the Berkeley campus. Reporting directly to the Assistant Dean of Undergraduate Programs at the Haas School of Business with a "dotted line" to the Assistant Dean of Finance and Administration for Biological Sciences, this position is responsible for the management of student recruitment, admissions, and student orientation;
academic advising and coaching, career counseling and an extensive, multi-year internship program; extra-curricular events, including cohort development, company treks, and other industry related activities; and all budget controls and program policies.
The Executive Director collaborates extensively with the Office of Undergraduate Admissions and the Undergraduate Offices of Business and Biological Sciences as well as respective marketing, alumni relations, and budget units within Business and Biological Sciences. This leadership position, along with the Faculty Co-Directors, externally represents the LSBE program through active corporate engagement, leveraging industrial networks and alumni connections from both the Haas School of Business and the Division of Biological Sciences.
The Executive Director and Faculty Co-Directors partner with the LSBE Advisory Board, an advisory group of key stakeholders and philanthropic leaders. The LSBE Program Team (Student Services Advisor and Program Coordinator) report to the Executive Director.
Employer Engagement and Career Education
- Develops and executes on a career and secondary education strategy for LSBE students.
- Supports the creation of a strategic, high-impact corporate partners network to provide opportunities for robust internships, mentoring opportunities, and corporate financial support to the LSBE program that serves 100 students annually.
