Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Maintenance Account Manager to support the continued success of our interiors cape and living wall portfolio. This role combines client account management, team leadership, horticultural quality control, and operational oversight.

You will serve as the primary point of contact for assigned clients, building long-term relationships with an emphasis on responsiveness, client satisfaction, and retention. You will also manage and develop a team of living wall and planter technicians while expanding your knowledge of living wall systems, irrigation, and interior horticulture.

Client and Account Management

  • Build and maintain trusted client relationships through responsive communication, consistent follow-through, and professional service.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned accounts.
  • Ensure services are delivered on time and in accordance with client needs, contractual requirements, and project objectives.
  • Address challenging client requests and escalated issues when appropriate.
  • Coordinate service schedules and site access with clients and the Habitat Horticulture maintenance team.
  • Monitor living wall systems and coordinate prompt responses to alerts or performance issues.
  • Identify opportunities to improve service quality, client satisfaction, and account retention.

Employee Management, Training, and Quality Control

  • Manage maintenance personnel, including hiring, performance reviews, scheduling, training, and vacation coverage.
  • Coach and develop team members in horticultural practices, irrigation management, pest management, and proper pruning techniques.
  • Conduct on-site orientations for employees assigned to new positions or accounts, including company practices, procedures, and health and safety requirements.
  • Perform routine site inspections to ensure horticultural quality, cleanliness, and adherence to client expectations.
  • Coordinate troubleshooting and repairs with site technicians and other team members.
  • Delegate maintenance tasks based on employee skills, account needs, and operational priorities.
  • Select and order appropriate plant species and coordinate the delivery of plants, tools, and materials.
  • Maintain established design standards and project intent while making appropriate horticultural adjustments when conditions require them.

Operations and Administration

  • Review and approve employee timecards and expense reports.
  • Track job costs and monitor account performance against estimated budgets.
  • Maintain accurate and current contracts, account records, and client information.
  • Work with the Accounts Receivable team to address aging accounts and outstanding invoices.
  • Maintain accurate information across company databases and operational platforms.
  • Collaborate with management and field staff to improve systems, procedures, guidelines, and best practices.

Qualifications

  • At least three years of experience in interiors cape maintenance, interior plant care, landscape maintenance, account management, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience managing client relationships and delivering client-focused solutions.
  • Ability to manage multiple accounts and competing priorities while maintaining strong attention to detail and responsiveness.
  • Willingness to adapt and act promptly when unexpected issues arise.
  • Excellent listening, negotiation, problem-solving, and presentation skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated experience managing teams and all of the associated HR responsibilities.
  • Ability to remain professional, composed, and solutions-oriented in challenging situations.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with a dependable work ethic.
  • Working proficiency with Google Workspace and Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with Slack and  is preferred.
  • A degree or professional background in horticulture is preferred.
  • Knowledge of plant identification, pest management, irrigation programming, and interior plant care is strongly preferred.
