Description:
Registered Nurse needed for a GI lab.
The candidate must possess a strong background in complex gastroenterology studies, including ERCP cases.
The registered nurse is responsible for the overall management of nursing care provided to patients.
This includes assuring competent, compassionate, and cost-effective patient care from admission to discharge.
The registered nurse ensures the safety, comfort, personal hygiene, and protection of patients.
They will perform disease prevention and restorative measures.
The role requires responding to medical and environmental emergencies effectively.
Patient care is planned and coordinated to maximize efficient delivery while ensuring safety and comfort.
The registered nurse will serve as a liaison between nursing and medical staff.
They will coordinate the involvement of patients, physicians, families, and other health team members.
This coordination aims to manage patient care and utilize hospital resources effectively.
The registered nurse sets priorities, initiates, and directs emergency interventions in a calm and efficient manner.
Clinical judgment and critical thinking are exercised in all aspects of nursing and unit activities.
They administer treatments and medications in a timely manner.
Maintaining current knowledge of patient care status and monitoring patients' perceptions of care is essential.
The registered nurse will ensure that significant changes in patients' conditions are communicated to physicians.
Ongoing assessments of patients and families are conducted, including psychosocial and educational factors.
The initial nursing assessment must be completed within 24 hours of admission.
Plans of care are developed in collaboration with patients, families, and other health professionals.
Effectiveness of the care plan is evaluated, modified, and communicated appropriately.
This job requires the ability to develop and implement comprehensive discharge plans.
The registered nurse must ensure thorough documentation and communication with the health team.
They must identify patients at risk for untoward events and implement activities to mitigate risks.
Candidate must have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work within a team environment.
Flexibility to work on weekends and as needed is required.
The candidate must have experience with specific charting systems, with preference for Epic experience.
A background check is required prior to hiring.
