We are looking for a part-time Nurse Practitioner to support medical and safety efforts onsite at a client location in Berkeley, CA.
Schedule:
Day shift with 1-2 days per week until 7:00pm
Employee Care, Treatment and Testing
- Perform Power Industrial Vehicle examinations in accordance with site requirements
- Perform Hazmat physicals in accordance with OSHA regulatory requirements
- Provide return-to-work clearances and adjust or modify return-to-work restrictions to ensure the employee can safely perform job duties
- Provide first-aid, medical treatment and appropriate follow-up to occupationally ill/injured workers consistent with appropriate Workers’ Compensation standards and laws
- Provide first-aid or minimal incidental care and treatment and appropriate follow-up for non-occupational conditions consistent with appropriate standards for an employer on-site clinic and laws
- Assist onsite RN in performing regulatory testing as needed
- Perform effective case‑management follow-up for injuries/illness and absences
- Provide counseling to employees on employment risk reduction initiatives as needed
Clinic Management
- Maintain frequent communication with Consulting Medical Director and Work Care Clinic manager and Program Manager-Onsite Services regarding all clinic issues and client requests
Medical Records and Private Health Information
- Maintain employee health records and databases
- Computer data entry of all employee demographic and health information
- Responsibly handle and guard Protected Health Information
- Follow all applicable HIPAA laws, regulations, and guidelines
Client Interaction
- Develop and maintain good relationships with client management, medical and safety personnel, co‑workers and Work Care supervisors and managers
- Communicate with appropriate client management frequently
- Provide timely, accurate reporting as dictated by client, Work Care and by law
Perform additional duties and assume additional responsibilities as identified by manager for the efficient operation of Work Care.
Qualifications- Current, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license in California
- Must have unrestricted DEA license
- Current ACLS/BLS certifications
- Minimum of 3 years advanced practice experience with prior occupational medicine preferred
- Demonstrate ability to maintain privacy and confidentiality
- Make independent decisions in accordance with company policy and procedures
- Take initiative on issues that arise daily
- Manage multiple priorities
- Maintain a professional approach with others in job‑demanding, multitasking and/or project support situations
- Competent in Windows operating system environment, Adobe Professional, Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, & Teams)
- Learn other software (example: SAP, Cority, etc.) as needed
- Requires sitting for long periods of time, working at a desk
- Some bending and stretching may be required
- Working under stress and use of computer/phone required
- Manual dexterity required for use of computer keyboard
- Occasionally may be required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel and/or crouch
- May occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
- Requires daily walk to & from parking lot to clinic
- May drive emergency vehicle within the site when responding to an incident
- Mainly indoor, office environment conditions
- Noise level is usually moderate
- Air quality is good, and temperature is controlled
- Clinic is located within the protected/regulated area
The preceding statements describe the general job responsibilities and individual’s qualifications inherent to this position. This position has an hourly pay range of $80-$85 per hour. Final compensation depends on factors such as job‑related knowledge, skills, experience, and qualifications.
