Position Details
  • Occasional on-call shift
  • Variable start times (latest at 11:00 AM)
  • 4 x 10-hour shifts
  • Monday to Friday
Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years of experience
  • Certifications

    Required:
    • CA RN License
    • ACLS
    • BLS
Unit Information

Work in the Same Day Surgery/Pre Op unit, floating between PACU and Same Day Surgery (Phase I and Phase II areas).

Job Duties
  • Manage nursing care from admission to discharge, ensuring competent, compassionate, and cost-effective patient care.
  • Ensure the safety, comfort, and personal hygiene of patients while performing disease prevention and restorative measures.
  • Respond to medical and environmental emergencies.
Job Accountabilities
  • Provide patient care in accordance with policies, scientific principles, and standards of care.
  • Plan and coordinate care delivery, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
  • Serve as a liaison between nursing and medical staff for collaborative patient care.
  • Coordinate involvement of patient, physician, family, and health team members to achieve optimal patient care.
  • Set priorities and direct emergency interventions efficiently and competently.
Assessment
  • Conduct initial and ongoing assessments of patients and families.
  • Ensure nursing process is individualized to meet patient needs, including assessment, care plans, education, and discharge planning.
  • Monitor patients at risk and implement precautions to reduce risks.
Planning
  • Develop and implement the patient s care plan based on interviews, observations, and consultations.
  • Document and communicate patient assessment, care plans, and outcomes.
  • Evaluate and modify the care plan in collaboration with patients, families, physicians, and other disciplines.
