Overview
Okatie Veterinary Center is growing and looking for an experienced Part-Time Veterinary Technician to support our additional doctor days.
- Salary: $19 - $25 per hour, depending on experience, education, certifications, licensure, and location.
- Schedule: 2/10-hour shifts. Monday - Saturday. Closed on Sunday and major holidays.
- Location: 200 Okatie Village Dr, Okatie, SC 29909
- Sign-On Bonus: Up to $3000 for Licensed Veterinary Technicians; up to $1500 for 5+ years of experience without license.

What You Are
- 3+ years of veterinary clinical experience, as a veterinary technician or assistant
- Degree from an AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technology program preferred but not required
- Knowledge of industry tools and equipment
- Passion for working with cats, dogs, and their owners
- Experience with proper animal handling and restraint
- Ability to perform nursing care in a hospital setting
- Solid understanding of animal behavior and healthcare
- Understands the importance of excellent communication and organizational skills
- Dental procedure experience, scaling, polishing, radiology
- Skilled in IV catheter placement, blood draws and general treatment room tasks
- Anesthesia monitoring and surgical experience including intubation, monitoring, pre-operative and post-operative care
- Laboratory skills including in-house laboratory machines and using the microscope
- Diagnostic experience including digital radiology, dental radiology, and ultrasound-guided cystocentesis
Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care in a hospital setting and assist veterinarians during procedures
- Assist with anesthesia monitoring, pre- and post-operative care
- Perform basic laboratory work and use in-house equipment
- Handle and restrain animals safely and compassionately
- Operate radiology tools and assist with imaging procedures
- Maintain accurate patient records and effective communication with clients
