Campus Veterinary Clinic is currently hiring a Lead Registered Veterinary Technician to join our team in Berkeley, California. Our practice is a general veterinary clinic that values compassionate care, community impact, and a supportive work environment.
Salary and Benefits- Salary: $28-39 per hour, depending on experience, education, licensure, and certifications.
- Sign‑on bonus: $500.
- Schedule:
Monday-Friday 7:30 am-6 pm. Saturday coverage not required. Closed Sundays and federal holidays. - Location:
1807 Martin Luther King Jr. Way, Berkeley, CA 94709. - Benefits:

- 3+ years of experience as a Veterinary Technician or Veterinary Assistant in a clinical hospital.
- Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) in California (or eligibility to acquire licensure within 3 months).
- Supervisor experience to oversee and support technicians and veterinarians.
- Preferred degree from an AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technology program.
- Knowledge of industry tools and equipment.
- Compassionate, calm demeanor with animals and clients.
- Experience with proper animal handling and restraint;
Fear-Free and low‑stress handling preferred. - Strong pharmacology knowledge (dosages, routes, side effects, administration).
- Completed dental prophylaxis with radiographs.
- Proficiency in IV catheter placement, urinary catheter placement, applying casts, bandages, and splints.
- General nursing care: fluid therapy, vital monitoring, pain assessment, and management.
- Anesthesia monitoring and surgical experience: intubation, monitoring, pre‑operative and post‑operative care.
- Laboratory skills: cytology set‑up and interpretation;
Idexx equipment. - Diagnostic experience: digital radiology, dental radiology, ultrasound‑guided cystocentesis.
- Client education on animal care, medications, nutrition, and post‑treatment instructions.
- Strong attention to detail, multitasking, and ability to handle stressful or emotional situations.
- Adaptable to teamwork with current doctors and staff.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Will perform all other duties allowed for a Registered Veterinary Technician by law.
