Job Description & How to Apply Below
We are looking for a Scientist to execute and optimize high-stakes cell culture, molecular biology, and long-read sequencing workflows. You will play a pivotal role in therapeutic screening and platform advancement. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who can translate high-level experimental goals into reproducible, robust workflows while making data-driven decisions.
Duties and Responsibilities- Execute and optimize cell culture and electroporation workflows, maintaining primary and engineered systems to support therapeutic screening.
- Design and run ddPCR assays as primary readouts, owning everything from primer design to data analysis of knockdown efficiency.
- Prepare high-molecular-weight DNA and intact RNA for Pac Bio Revio HiFi and Iso-Seq workflows.
- Execute SMRTbell library prep, including end repair, adapter ligation, and size selection for optimal Revio platform performance.
- Perform quality control using Qubit, Nano Drop, Tape Station/Femto Pulse, and fragment analysis.
- Partner with internal teams and vendors to resolve issues like low yield or suboptimal read lengths; support the transition to automated liquid-handling systems.
- Establish robust SOPs and support the scale-up of molecular assays.
- B.S. in Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Bioengineering, or a related field (Advanced degree preferred).
- 2+ years of hands‑on experience with core techniques (nucleic acid extraction, PCR/qPCR/ddPCR, cloning).
- 1+ year of experience with aseptic technique for mammalian tissue culture.
- 1+ year of experience in NGS sample prep, library preparation, and associated quality control.
- Direct experience culturing and differentiating human ES cells and/or iPS cells is required.
- Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment and clearly communicate technical blockers and progress.
