Position Title: Postdoctoral Scholar (Employee-3252)

Salary: $69,073 - $77,030, based on UC postdoc salary scales and experience.

Percent Time: 100%

Anticipated Start: Summer-Fall 2026

Position Duration: 2 years, with possibility of extension based on performance and funding availability.

The ATG Lab investigates genetic and molecular underpinnings of human disease using high-throughput pluripotent stem cell models. Researchers utilize genome editing, automated cell engineering, and multiplexed CRISPR screening with single-cell multi-omics and AI modeling to build state‑of‑the‑art disease‑specific models for therapeutic discovery.

• Lead projects in genome engineering, differentiation into disease‑relevant cell types, and functionality characterization of iPSCs.
• Execute complex molecular workflows: tissue culture, PCR, NGS sequencing, high‑resolution imaging, and biochemical assays to validate disease models.
• Design and run CRISPR screening campaigns, from library design and molecular cloning to lentiviral production.
• Manage large‑scale cell culture operations to support high‑throughput genetic perturbations and therapeutic discovery.
• Develop and implement computational pipelines to analyze phenotypic data from multi‑omic assays.
• Use pathway analysis and AI modeling to derive insights and identify novel therapeutic targets.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to graduate and undergraduate students, fostering a collaborative lab environment.
• Lead preparation of manuscripts for peer‑reviewed journals and present findings at national and international conferences.
• Support grant development by contributing preliminary data and strategic writing to federal and private proposals (e.g., NIH, NSF).

• Basic qualifications: PhD (or equivalent) or enrollment in a PhD program in a relevant field.
• Additional qualifications by start date: PhD completed; no more than three years of post‑degree research experience.
• Preferred qualifications: Excellent writing and communication skills; strong publication record; expertise in cell biology, genetics, genomics, or stem cell biology; experience with multi‑omics, CRISPR screens, iPSC disease modeling, genome engineering, AI‑based omics or imaging data analysis.
