The Museum of Vertebrate Zoology at UC Berkeley seeks a Postdoctoral Scholar in the Nachman Lab, focusing on population genetics and evolutionary genomics. The lab works on an NIH-funded project studying the genomic basis of environmental adaptation in house mice.
Research involves whole‑genome sequencing of wild‑caught mice across the Americas, studies of gene expression and chromatin accessibility, genetic crosses with wild‑derived inbred strains, and long‑read sequencing to investigate structural variation and transposable elements. The postdoc will contribute to existing projects and develop new ones within the research program.
