DELI CLERK

Part-Time and Full-Time

Location: 2020 Oregon St. and 920 Heinz Ave

Purpose:

To provide prompt, friendly, helpful well-informed service to customers and assist in operations of a full service deli to help meet department goals.

Status:
Reports to Kitchen/Deli Management team.

Responsibilities:

Providing responsive, exceptional service to deli counter customers by answering questions, making recommendations, providing samples, and responding to requests.
Recommending, slicing, weighing, packaging, and pricing meats and cheeses.
Food preparation and serving food items such as burritos and sandwiches, including special orders and party trays.
Updating displays, cases, and other customer-facing areas to ensure new items and promotions are showcased.
Ensuring that work areas are ready to service customers by cleaning surfaces, equipment, and floors, removing trash, and confirming that tools are in working order.
Following all food safety and sanitation procedures established by the company and other regulatory agencies.
Cooperating with others to ensure customer satisfaction.
Confirming that all displays, products, and services comply with company standards.
Assist customers by cashiering in a quick, efficient, and accurate manner.
Maintain cash drawer in a neat and orderly manner. Produce cash drops as prompted and maintain an adequate level of change in cash drawer. Responsible for arranging deposits as well as balancing the cash drawer daily.

Assist in other areas of the store/department as needed.

Qualifications:

Education/Training:
High school diploma or GED preferred.
Licenses/Certifications:

Food Safety Certification required.
Knowledge/

Skills:
- Basic math skills required.
- Food service experience and customer service experience desired.
Other:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
- Must be over 18 to operate equipment.

Pay range : $19.50 - $29.50 per hour
