Interns will complete a project specific to their skill set and interest. Possible projects could include:

• Adding features to or enhancing the Chisel language for better design and verification

As an Intern on the Platform Engineering Technologies team, you will be responsible for supporting and enhancing cutting‑edge tools for System‑on‑Chip (SoC) design. You will apply your object‑oriented or functional programming skills to enhance domain‑specific languages for hardware design. You will participate in the open‑source Chisel (https://(Use the "Apply for this Job" box below).) and CIRCT () communities while ensuring that SiFive engineers have the best tools to build and verify advanced RISC‑V CPUs, IPs, and SoCs.

You will be part of a tight‑knit, supportive, challenge‑loving team who likes to learn and apply new technologies to change the paradigm of designing custom silicon.

• You will deepen your functional programming skills in Scala
• You will contribute to an open source project used in an industry setting
• You will learn how to take user feedback and improve their experience by improving the tools you provide them

• Willingness to learn and share
• Ability to communicate and teach others both inside and outside the company
• Experience with object oriented or functional programming languages
• Exposure to hardware design and verification techniques is a plus but not required.

• Base Pay Range: $32.40-$39.00
• Variable/incentive compensation and/ or equity may be eligible
