The Senior Property Accountant is responsible for full-cycle accounting and lease administration support for a portfolio of commercial properties. This role partners closely with property management, leasing, and asset management teams to ensure accurate financial reporting, compliance with lease terms, and timely execution of accounting processes. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, deadline-driven, and experienced in Yardi and complex property structures.
Key Responsibilities Accounting- Manage Accounts Payable
, including:
Invoice data entry, approval workflows, and payment processing - Manage Accounts Receivable
, including:
Issuing collection notices - Monitoring tenant balances and follow-up
- Prepare and manage Tenant Invoicing
, including:
Percentage rent, Utility reimbursements, CAM reimbursements - Perform bank reconciliations for assigned entities
- Lead monthly financial close
, including:
Accrual and prepayment schedules, Recurring and non-recurring adjusting journal entries, General ledger and subledger reconciliations, Preparation of monthly financial statements - Support and maintain accounting for subsidized programs
, including: TDD, CID, and TIF experience - Manage accounting within master lease organizational structures
- Support the annual budgeting and forecasting process
- Handle 1099 processing and reporting
- Maintain accurate and complete tenant records
, including:
Payment schedules, Lease compliance monitoring, Certificates of Insurance (COI) tracking, Lease expiration tracking, Sales reporting - Set up and maintain tenants in Yardi Commercial Café
- Ensure proper lease file maintenance and documentation organization
- 5+ years of property accounting experience, preferably commercial
- Strong working knowledge of Yardi (Voyager required)
- Experience with CAM reconciliations, percentage rent, and utility billing
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently
- Standard business hours with month-end close deadlines
