Senior Electronic Design Engineer (Comm & Sensor Systems)
Join Boeing’s Integrated Advanced Systems (IAS) team in Phantom Works to work on advanced mission systems in Berkeley, Missouri. The role focuses on the development of a Software Defined Radio (SDR), leading embedded software development, implementing Big Iron open‑architecture standards, testing products through the Invoice Lifecycle, evaluating mission system technologies, and writing proposals for new business.

Position Responsibilities- Lead embedded software implementation for the SDR platform.
- Develop and validate requirements, architectures, and trade studies for communication,-barrier, sensor, and EW systems.
- Perform modeling, simulation, and performance optimization for systems and subsystems.
- Design and conduct critical tests to validate design performance.
- Manage supplier and partner performance to ensure compliance with requirements.
- Provide lifecycle support from manufacturing through customer use.
- Coordinate development of work statements, budgets, and schedules; conduct reviews.
- Generate proposal sections for new business development.
- Work independently with minimal direction.
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering
COUNTING Electrical, Mechanical, or Aeronautical (others accepted). - 9+ years of related experience (7+ with master’s; 3+ with PhD).
- Programming in C/C++ and Python.
- Experience with Kubernetes or similar containerization.
- Experience with message patterns or transport technologies (ZMQ, Apache MQ, etc.).
- Embedded systems development experience.
- Experience with EW systems.
- Experience with RF hardware/subsystems.
- Experience with Open Architectures, especially Big Iron.
- Experience developing on Linux environments.
This position requires an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship required). The holder must maintain a current clearance; previous active clearance within the last 24 months is acceptable.
Location100% onsite in Berkeley, Missouri. Travel may be required up to 10% of the time.
