The Boeing Company is currently seeking a Software Engineering Manager for the Flight Simulation | Labs Software team located in Berkeley, Missouri
. This position supports the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Software Engineering organization.
The selected candidate will be part of a dynamic and cohesive management team in a large, cross‑functional integrated product team (IPT) developing modeling and simulation capabilities that enable cutting‑edge combat aircraft developed by the Air Dominance Division of BDS.
Responsibilities- Manage employees and, if applicable, oversee first‑level managers performing engineering and technical activities in Software Engineering.
- Develop and execute integrated departmental plans, policies, and procedures, and provide input on departmental business and technical strategies, goals, and objectives.
- Acquire resources for department activities, provide technical management of suppliers, and lead process improvements.
- Develop and maintain relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners, and team members.
- Provide guidance, oversight, and approval of technical approaches, products, and processes.
- Manage, develop, and motivate employees.
- 1 or more years of demonstrated aptitude for leadership.
- Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
- 1+ years of experience working on real‑time Modeling and Simulation and/or Mission Systems products.
- 1+ years of experience with Earned Value Management.
- Working knowledge of the Scale Agile Framework (SAFe).
- Experience leading teams, ideally software teams.
