Senior Estimator

An established mechanical contractor specializing in industrial and power generation markets is seeking a Senior Estimator – Power Generation to support major construction and modification projects. This role will lead the preparation of precise and competitive cost estimates while partnering closely with engineering, procurement, and project management teams on complex gas, combined cycle, and nuclear systems.

• Review and analyze blueprints, specifications, and technical documentation to define project scope.
• Estimate labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs for installations and modifications.
• Develop detailed bid proposals, cost breakdowns, and internal budget reports.
• Conduct job site visits to assess existing conditions and gather field data.
• Coordinate with project management and engineering teams to align budgets with schedules and deliverables.
• Evaluate supplier and subcontractor pricing to ensure cost efficiency.
• Maintain current cost data, track industry pricing trends, and monitor labor and material rates.
• Identify potential risks or cost overruns and propose mitigation strategies.
• Assist with contract negotiations and project scheduling.

• 5+ years of mechanical or civil estimating experience within power generation or utility sectors.
• Strong understanding of gas, combined cycle, and nuclear systems.
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
