Senior T-Experimental Test Pilot

Overview

The Boeing Company’s Testing and Evaluation division seeks an experienced Experimental Test Pilot to serve as Senior T‑7A Experimental Test Pilot at our Boeing Operations location in Berkeley, MO. In this role you will join a high‑skill team of test pilots to support the T‑7A flight‑test and production effort across multiple sites.

• Requirements development, serving as subject‑matter expert on all performance aspects of aircraft design, PVI development and assessment
• Expertise on mission system capabilities and operation
• Subject‑matter expert for flight‑test activities including operating limitations development, safety planning, flight‑test planning, test card development, test execution and reporting
• Plan and execute ground and flight tests for experimental, prototype and production aircraft to evaluate system functionality, handling qualities, high‑angle‑of‑attack performance, flutter tests, load tests, structural integrity, and flight‑control system performance
• Develop and coordinate flight‑test plans, procedures and techniques to achieve qualification or certification and meet test‑plan objectives
• Write technical and flight reports and provide input for developing and modifying flight manuals and related documentation
• Evaluate data and provide recommendations regarding operational techniques, aircraft handling characteristics, system operations and design improvements
• Analyze flight data (e.g., system performance, aircraft handling, equipment function) and participate in aircraft and aircraft‑system design to recommend changes based on operational considerations
• Collaborate on marketing, evaluation and demonstration activities for customers
• Ensure flight activities comply with regulatory standards, company policies and procedures
• Work with government representatives and customers to resolve issues
• Maintain compliance with FAA ATP or Commercial certificate with Instrument and SEL rating

• Must be able to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which U.S. Citizenship is required
• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or a non‑U.S. equivalent directly related to the work statement
• Graduate of a recognized Test Pilot School
• FAA Commercial pilot certificate (Single Engine Land and Instrument Airplane) and current FAA Class II medical certificate
• 1,500 hours of first‑pilot time in tactical fighter/trainer aircraft
• 100+ flight hours as first pilot during experimental, engineering, operational and/or acceptance flight tests
• FAA Commercial pilot’s certificate with MEL, C/L Thrust Limitation removed, or ATP Instructor Pilot rating in tactical fighter/trainer aircraft
• Experience with advanced fly‑by‑wire control systems and developmental flight‑test experience in tactical aircraft
• Ability to communicate complex flight‑test concepts in written and oral formats

• FAA Commercial pilot’s certificate with MEL, C/L Thrust Limitation removed, or ATP Instructor Pilot rating in tactical fighter/trainer aircraft
• Previous qualification on aircraft with advanced fly‑by‑wire control systems
• Developmental flight‑test experience in tactical aircraft
• Excellent communication skills for conveying complex flight‑test concepts and ideas

• Base pay range: $205,700 – $278,300 (pay based on experience, qualifications, and market considerations)
