Position Overview
Senior Avionics Hardware Engineer – Fighters Mission Systems (Level
5) at The Boeing Company in Berkeley, MO. This role will serve as the subject‑matter expert and technical lead for Mission Computers and Stores Management hardware, guiding design, integration, verification, and fielding of avionics subsystems across tactical fighter programs.
- Overall subject matter expert and technical lead on Mission Computers and Stores Management hardware for requirements development and avionics subsystem/system design.
- Lead hardware supplier design team to support all Tactical Fighters program needs.
- Develop interface control documents describing mechanical, electrical, and software interfaces.
- Perform technical problem investigation and resolution at subsystem, system, and platform integration levels.
- Lead weapon capability development, implementation, and integration onto fighters platforms.
- Brief status to internal Boeing stakeholders/leadership and external customers.
- Support subsystem testing on the Mission Systems hardware during ESIL and flight test; support airworthiness efforts for hardware design, development, and implementation.
- Support flight test support system testing and SCFTA efforts for Mission Systems hardware.
- Provide overall hardware system verification and production/fielding guidance.
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical or Aeronautical), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics or Chemistry.
- 14+ years of work‑related engineering experience (or 12+ years with a Master’s, or 9+ years with a PhD).
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance; current U.S. Citizen.
- Experience leading engineering teams and mentoring peers.
- Strong background in circuit card and backplane design and integration.
- Active U.S. Secret Security Clearance.
- Previous experience working on tactical fighters programs.
- Experience designing, verifying and fielding avionics subsystems.
- Knowledge of Special Access Program clearance requirements.
The position is 100% onsite at the selected location in Berkeley, MO.
CompensationLevel5 salary range: $154,700 – 209,300.
