Systems Software Engineer; Associate, Experienced or Senior

Position Overview

Systems Software Engineer (Associate, Experienced, or Senior) – Software Development team within the Phantom Works Network Centric Operations team, located in Berkeley, Missouri. The role focuses on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security Software Engineering organization, designing, developing, and implementing platform‑agnostic software capabilities that enable network operations for tactical fighter aircraft.

• Derive and quantify data fusion algorithms and techniques.
• Author and maintain technical description documents, requirements, and algorithm analysis memos (AAMs) for data fusion algorithms and techniques.
• Analyze data fusion techniques for accuracy and effectiveness.
• Develop prototype algorithms in C++, Python, Matlab, etc.
• Partner with software architects to inform effective algorithm implementation and design.
• Collect, organize, synthesize, and analyze data; summarize findings; develop conclusions and recommendations from appropriate data sources.
• Collaborate with customers on requirements development.

• Bachelor’s Degree.
• 2+ years’ experience with data fusion engines, kinematic correlation techniques, and Kalman filters.
• Experience with pattern recognition, multi‑modal sensor data fusion, sensor calibration, and visualization technologies.
• 2+ years’ experience with sensors, sensor management and fusion, datalinks, and/or weapons and their interactions.

• Level 2:
  Bachelor of Science in engineering or related field and 2+ years of related work experience, or Bachelor’s Degree and 6+ years of directly related work experience.
• Level 3:
  Bachelor of Science in engineering or related field and 5+ years of related work experience, or Bachelor’s Degree and 9+ years of directly related work experience.
• Level 4:
  Bachelor of Science in engineering or related field and 9+ years of related work experience, or Bachelor’s Degree and 13+ years of directly related work experience.
• Data fusion analysis/software development experience.
• Self‑starter with strong analytical and creative problem‑solving skills and a track record of working successfully under pressure.
• Experience with sensor data such as radar and various infrared sensors.
• Experience developing and implementing probabilistic models to combine sensor data (Bayesian reasoning, Kalman filtering, evidence theory).
• Experience with advanced probability statistics and applying them in real‑world scenarios.

• Travel: approximately 10% of the time.

• Pay & Benefits:
  Competitive base pay and variable compensation; benefits include health insurance, flexible spending accounts, health savings accounts, retirement savings plans, life and disability insurance, and paid and unpaid time off. Pay ranges:
  Associate – $94,350 – $127,650;
  Experienced – $118,150 – $159,850;
  Senior – $147,900 – $200,100.
• Security Clearance:
  Ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Clearance required post‑start.
