Position Overview
Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) offers a Nondestructive Testing/Inspection (NDT) Technician (Associate/Experienced) role in the St. Louis area at our Berkeley, MO site. This role involves conducting Non‑Destructive Testing on aerospace products using ultrasonic (UT), eddy current (ET), radiographic (RT), magnetic particle (MT) and liquid penetrant (PT) methods, and working with digital and automated inspection systems.
Position Responsibilities- Completes structured training programs to gain knowledge of NDT methods, including but not limited to UT, ET, RT, MT, PT.
- Performs setup for specialized non‑destructive test or measurement equipment to controlled standards.
- Assists in the documentation of procedures for setting up test equipment.
- Analyzes routine test, inspection or statistical data to determine product and process conformity.
- Assists with standard corrective action recommendations.
- Documents and communicates standard test, analysis or measurement results.
- Reports potential adverse trends or anomalous results.
- Served at least 180 continuous days on active duty within 12 months of separation or retirement from the military.
- Able to start 180 days prior to separation or retirement from active duty.
- Active Secret Clearance or higher is required.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Formalized NDT Training and experience including an equivalent Level II Certification in a minimum of one or more of the following methods: UT, RT, MT, PT or ET.
- More than 1 year of experience working with tools or machinery from vocational courses, shop environments, or military experience.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Products like Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
- More than 3 years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (Level
3). - Experience determining, applying, and performing arithmetic operations to solve complex math problems; ability to extract relevant information from tables, charts, graphs, and text, spot relevant trends, and create and document useful models.
- Knowledge of aircraft or vehicle maintenance.
- Technical/Vocational education in a related field.
Physical Requirements
May be exposed to noise, dust, fumes, airborne particles, smoke (within OSHA permissible exposure levels). Some positions require work in a radiation environment.
Must demonstrate strong understanding of safety and health regulations, protocols, policies, and procedures for a safe working environment.
Will be required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) applicable to the testing method used, stand 90% of the time, bend, stoop, stretch, and perform awkward positioning, and lift up to 35 lbs.
Additional InformationShift: First, second, or third shift; shift differential may be available for second/third shift.
