Job Summary
Structures Test & Evaluation Technician (Entry‑Level or Associate) – Department:
Structures & Mechanical Test, location:
Berkeley, MO. The role supports structural, mechanical and material properties test programs for Boeing divisions, including test teams for aircraft and weapons programs such as T‑7A, MQ‑25A, F‑15 and F/A‑18.
- Plan, conduct and document small structural and material static, fatigue and environmental tests.
- Troubleshoot and recommend resolution of basic laboratory and test‑related problems.
- Apply strain gauges onto material testing coupons and sub‑assembly parts for testing.
- Work under general supervision from engineers, senior technicians and manager.
- Participate in integration and test of structural material and sub‑assembly tests and calibrations.
- Support pre‑test setup, integration, checkout and post‑test tear‑down of test articles, instrumentation and data systems.
- Conduct testing, analyze data and document results with guidance from engineering and senior technicians.
- Support periodic maintenance of laboratory equipment, including hydraulic pumps, hydraulic and electro‑mechanical load frames and lab tooling.
- Perform lab compliance tasks such as tool control, asset inventory, lab procedure updates and part ordering.
- U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance.
- Experience troubleshooting Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) or functionally equivalent control systems.
- Experience in an aircraft and/or laboratory test environment with hydraulics, pneumatics and control systems.
- Experience with soldering.
- 1+ year experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
- 1 or more years of related work experience.
- Associate’s degree in electronic and/or mechanical technology or related field.
- Hands‑on experience with mechanical systems, electro‑mechanical design and hydraulic load‑frame control systems.
- Knowledge of MTS Test Suite or MTS Aeropro.
- Strong communication skills in a team environment.
- 1+ year experience with electrical troubleshooting.
- 1+ year experience with small‑scale parts/hardware.
- 1+ year experience installing strain gauges and troubleshooting instrumentation.
- 1+ year experience with Digital Image Correlation.
- 1+ year experience with soldering, assembling and troubleshooting wire harnesses and laboratory control cabling.
- 1+ year experience with lab hydraulic control and power systems.
- General experience using Digital Volt Meters, electronic scales and related lab equipment.
- Experience in data acquisition systems and tabulating data and laboratory notes.
1st shift, with the possibility of evenings, nights, weekends, alternate shifts and overtime as required to support program objectives.
Pay & BenefitsCompetitive base pay and variable compensation. Pay ranges:
- Entry‑Level (Level1): $44,200 – $59,800
- Associate Level (Level2): $53,550 – $72,450
